THE FOUNDATION
The Bella Legacy Foundation exists to preserve legacies through creativity, compassion, and community‐building. We believe grief can give birth to new purpose, and our mission is to empower families and young people to turn pain into passion and loss into legacy. Through scholarships, mentorship, and arts-centered programming, we support justice-involved students, emerging creatives, and local families—helping them find strength in storytelling, beauty in resilience, and purpose in connection.

The Bella Legacy Awards and Fashion Gala was founded in 2025 by Dr. Javan Reed in loving memory of his sister, Shantell M. Miller—affectionately known as Shan Bella. Her radiant presence, passion for fashion, and deep love for community continue to inspire a movement of hope, beauty, and purpose.
This inaugural Masquerade Ball Edition, hosted at WJCT in Jacksonville, Florida, will feature fashion-forward models returning to the runway and exclusive new designs from Dr. Reed himself, Creative Director and Founder of the Bella Legacy Foundation.
